When we were kids

Age 4:

"Naruto-kun!" Y/N laughed as she was chased around the meadow, her f/c pigtails flying around her knees. Naruto was running behind her, his finger outstretched to touch her.

"Y/N-Chan, you're gonna get caught!!" Naruto cheered, chasing her near the pond. Y/N was running fast, trying not to get caught in the splashes as she and Naruto trampled in the shallow end.

"No!" Y/N fake yelled, collapsing on the dry land by the pond. Naruto shook her eagerly, laughing at her as they played.

"Hey!" They both froze and turned their heads, hearing another voice their age yell. Y/N looked up to see a boy she knew in their class. "Hi, Sasuke." Y/N smiled, shrugging her shoulders at his infuriated face. He was looking in between the two. Naruto and Y/N were his classmates. He remembered Naruto being very loud, and Y/N being really giggly.

"Are you hurting her?" Sasuke questioned Naruto, standing at the edge of the treeline. Y/N and Naruto both laughed, shaking their heads.

"We're playing monster. Wanna play?" Y/n asked. "It's super fun, it's like a tag kinda." Y/N poked Naruto's shoulder. "He's it!" Y/N ran away from Naruto towards Sasuke, grabbing his hand.

"Whoa!" Sasuke yelled, running away with her while Naruto chased after them. They leapt over fallen trees, running through a new meadow with tall grass.

"Quiet." Y/N whispered, and both of them ducked into the grass. She threw her belly on the floor in a prone, crawling with her forearms gently as she hid expertly. Sasuke followed suit, laughing at her silently.

"You're really good at this game." Sasuke chuckled. Y/N nodded.

"It's like playing ninja." Y/N smiled at him, her tiny mouth pursed as Naruto bursted into the open.

"Where are you bakas?" Naruto called, looking left and right.

Sasuke looked down at his hand, when Naruto burst into the clearing, Y/N had grabbed his on instinct. He felt a warm feeling in his little belly. "Your hands are soft." Sasuke commented out loud, a small blush on his face.

"Yours too." Y/N smiled at him, promptly shushing him when Naruto got near. When his back was turned, she counted silently on her fingers. "3,2,1.. Get him Sasuke." Y/N watched as Sasuke launched at Naruto, his arms wrapping around his body as the two of them spiraled down the hill in the meadow. She followed them running, her hair flying around as she skidded down the meadow.

"Agh!" Naruto grunted as he landed on his back, Sasuke on top of him. Sasuke had him pinned with a triumphant smile.

"Gotcha!" Sasuke said with a smile, tilting his head as he studied the boy's face. "What are you guys doing here anyway? This is Uchiha district." Sasuke looked into the boy's eyes as he struggled underneath Sasuke's grip. Sasuke was very strong for his age. Y/N came up behind him, and peeked over his shoulder at Naruto.

"You guys are so cute." She kissed Naruto's cheek, her hair tickling his cheeks. Naruto blushed.

"LET GO OF ME TEME!" Naruto yowled as he struggled. Sasuke hooked his foot around Naruto's ankles, effectively pinning him. Y/n laid beside Naruto, bored as she looked up at the clouds.

"You didn't answer my question." Sasuke was straddling him, making Naruto buck at his closeness. "What are you guys doing here?"

"I wanted to see the lake." Y/N smiled at him. "It's pretty here." She reached out and grabbed a flower. "Besides the forest here has so many flowers, why can't I?"

"You need permission." Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Silly girl." He poked her cheek, making her puffed out her cheeks.

"Well we do now! We have Sasuke Uchiha, King of Uchihas." Y/N mocked him clearly, making Sasuke narrow his eyes at her.

"Shut up, fangirl." Sasuke insulted her, making Y/N gasp.

"You idiot! I'm going to marry Naruto-kun! I could care less about you." Y/N smirked at him, teasing him back. Sasuke huffed as he looked down at Naruto. Naruto was smiling sheepishly at her statement.

"That's true, she's my girlfriend." Naruto stuck out his tongue at Sasuke. Sasuke felt a small pinch of jealousy.

"All the girls like me." Sasuke pointed at her. She rolled her eyes.

"Not me, baka." She then pushed him, catching him off guard as he was forced to let go of Naruto. He fell on his back as Y/N then straddled him, holding something sharp to his neck. He looked down to see a kunai, his teeth bared. "I think you need to be nicer to my Naruto-kun." She warned him, then twirled it around in her hand as she placed it back in her skirt.

Sasuke blushed. "Y/N, you're sitting on me." He muttered softly. Y/N got up with a smile. Naruto was staring at him.

"Well, welcome to the group Sasuke Baka."

Age 5: After the Uchiha Massacre

Sasuke awoke in the hospital wing, Naruto and Y/N sitting next to his bed. They were the first people he saw when he awoke, the two of them looking silently at him. "I'm sorry." They both said, and flinched when the anger boiled in his face.

"I don't want your pity." Sasuke declared, crossing his arms. "I want your help, getting my revenge."

Y/N bit her lip, with a nod. "I guess we're all a bunch of misplaced orphans now, right guys?" She looked to Naruto with a nod. Sasuke nodded as well, his eyes softening when he saw the kunai in her hand.

"We snuck in." Y/N bit her lip and held out her hand. Sasuke took the prized heirloom from her hands, the frown on his face when he remembered his fallen family. Naruto crossed his arms.

"We'll get stronger, together." Naruto smiled at the two of them. Sasuke nodded, determined. Y/N handed him a plate of food.

"Eat up Baka, or we'll get stronger first." Y/N declared, a smirk on her face. Sasuke narrowed his eyes, a coldness that wasn't there before prominent.

"We'll see about that."

Age 12:

"Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzimaki, Sakura Haruno, and Y/N L/N." Iruka nodded. Sakura stared at Y/N as she approached, a smirk on her face as Naruto tied her headband on for her.

"Your Naruto's girlfriend." Sakura smiled, holding out her hand. "So you won't stop me from getting Sasuke?" Sakura asked hopefully. Y/N looked at Sasuke with a laugh in her throat, standing still as possible for Naruto to tie it.

"As if I like you, teme." Y/N snickered as Sasuke rolled his eyes, and then slugged her in the shoulder.

"As if you could escape me, brat." Sasuke smirked at her while she just grinned happily. Naruto met Sasuke's eyes with a discreet nod.

"Y/N." Sakura steered her away to talk to her privately. "What do you truly think about Sasuke? I won't be mad." She asked as Y/N looked back to Naruto and Sasuke. They were talking together, leaning close and whispering something no one could hear. Y/N grinned.

"I think he's batting for a different team, Sakura-Chan." Y/N teased slightly as she watched a barely noticeable blush occur on Sasuke's face. Naruto was grinning the same. "No.. He's on both teams, but I don't think you're exactly his type." Y/N turned around and smiled.

Sakura frowned. "I don't know what you're trying to say Y/N-Chan." She pouted. Y/N shrugged.

"He's very intense, and he can be rude.. Complicated." She narrowed her eyes mischievously as she watched Sasuke meet her eyes. She winked.

"I don't know if just one person would satisfy him." Y/N shrugged. "I don't know how to explain it."

"Y/N-Chan, are you saying Sasuke is a closet perv?" Sakura looked at her with raised eyebrows. Sasuke was staring back at Y/N, the two of them not breaking their staring battle. "Y/N-Chan!" She raised her voice. Y/N huffed and looked away.

"I'm saying Sakura, if you think you're gonna marry Sasuke.. Don't hold your breath." Y/N shrugged. "I think you should try though."

Sakura nodded, a shrug on her shoulders. "Maybe you don't know Sasuke as well as you think you do Y/N-Chan. Just because you and Naruto are his friends, you can't know everything about him." Sakura challenged slightly, jealousy evident in her eyes.

"I don't pretend to." Y/N shrugged. "I just know my friend, I don't think he can be the white knight you need Sakura-Chan." Y/N shrugged. Sakura stormed away from her.

"Whatever Y/N-Chan, stay away from Sasuke-kun or else!" Sakura snapped.

Age 13

"Don't go Sasuke-kun!" Sakura cried, pawing at his back. "I'll scream, I'll tell everyone you're leaving."

"Don't be stupid!" Sasuke glared at her. "This is my choice, playing house in this stupid village is not going to work for me." He ignored the tears trekking down Sakura's face. Y/N was watching from the treeline with Naruto, the both of them holding hands as they shook their heads.

"We have to help Sakura-Chan." Naruto bit his lip. Y/N shook her head.

"He won't hurt her." Y/N promised him. "He's just trying to get away." She crossed her arms. Sasuke had been acting strangely ever since the Chunin exams. Naruto and her knew it would come to this.

Sakura collapsed into an exhausted pile of tears, Sasuke laying her back against the bench to allow her to rest.

"Sasuke!" Y/N called out, making the black haired boy freeze at the sound of her voice. Naruto and her launched down, the two of them landing in sync in front of him. Sasuke looked away from them, guilt evident on his features.

"You were just gonna leave without saying goodbye." Naruto cried out, angry and broken. "How could you!"

"I could have helped you!" Y/N glared as the boy stared at his feet. "You know how strong I am, no matter what I would have helped you with your revenge."

"Can't you both see that you're my weakness?!" Sasuke howled. "I need to leave because of you both, or I'll lose sight of what's important!"

Y/N strode forward until she was close enough, and grabbed a fist full of his collar. "You idiot, what's more important than family?"

"You're not my family!" Sasuke shoved her hard, catching her off guard. "You both are fucking rediculous and enjoy playing with my mind."

"No the f-!" Y/N glowered in Naruto's arms. "We'd do anything for you, idiot!"

Sasuke felt guilty as he watched the tears trek down Naruto's face. "Are you kidding me, would you leave right now and leave everyone you love for me?"

Both kids were silent, Y/N staring down at the floor. "Yes." She looked up and met his eyes, determination in hers. Naruto nodded as well. "I love the village, Sasuke, but I love you too." Naruto declared.

"We can't all become missing ninja." Sasuke glared. "You'd be throwing your lives away, you'll be in danger."

Y/N sucked in a deep breath. "Are you serious about this?" She asked, her eyes meeting Sasuke's. Sasuke nodded.

"This is to keep you both safe. I couldn't give a damn about anyone in the village, except for the two people standing in front of me." Sasuke clenched his fists tightly. Y/N breathed out with a sigh.

"I'm going, Naruto." Y/N declared. "I'll protect him." She promised as Naruto gripped her tighter, bawling and crying as he made her promise to stay alive.

"Let's go get stronger together Sasuke." Y/N gave Naruto one last kiss, and stepped back towards Sasuke's side. "This is it for now, Naruto."

"If I can't convince you to stay, don't expect me to give up." Naruto declared. "I'll keep fighting, and I'll get stronger too. I'll bring you both back. Teme, just promise me one thing."

Sasuke nodded, and looked into his eyes. "Protect her." Naruto pleaded, his eyes softened. "Keep both of you safe so I can kick your ass again."

"I promise." Sasuke turned his back on him. "Let's go." Y/N didn't look at Naruto as she ran after Sasuke, a sad look in her eyes.

Naruto sat down next to Sakura, slumping down as a tear tore down his face.

Age 16:

"What did you say, Sasuke?" Y/N asked, confusion on her face. Naruto and her were facing Sasuke, after Y/N decided to disband from Teme Hebi. A fight had broken out, and it was just the three of them.

"I love you." Sasuke repeated himself, staring into both of their souls, they all looked at each other.

"Both of us?" Y/n asked, pointed to herself and Naruto.

"I don't know how, but yes." Sasuke crossed his arms. "I don't know how, or why.. But I want you both." His eyes softened as he looked down. Y/N lifted from her shocked stance.

"Naruto?" She asked Naruto, who was blushing now.

"Y/N... I didn't know how to tell you, but the entire time I was dating you... I was thinking about Sasuke too." He blushed. "I don't know what it means either, but I didn't know how to tell you."

"Oh." Y/N blushed as both men were looking at her, nervous. "That explains all the accident kisses between you too."

"You're important to us too." Sasuke declared. "More important than anyone. If it meant saving you, I'd get rid of the world." Sasuke swept his arm out in emphasis.

"Y/N-Chan, how did you truly feel about us both?" Naruto asked her gently, squeezing her hand. Y/N bit her lip.

Living with Sasuke for three years, surely had her feeling something other than friendship. She always thought Sasuke was her greatest friend, but she felt as if Sasuke and Naruto were both equal. If she were caught in a standstill, and she had to kill one to let the other live, she doesn't know what she would do. A sob broke out of her mouth as both men rushed to her, each of them wrapping an arm around her in a hug.

"You guys are my everything." She whispered. "Everything, and I would do anything to protect it."

"Take her dobe." Sasuke looked Naruto in the eye tearfully. "I don't have a good future ahead of me, I can't make either of you happy." Sasuke frowned. "I can't guarantee you I'll be happy in the village." Sasuke buried his head into Y/N's hair. She was sniffling.

"Leave with us, Sasuke." Y/N whimpered. "Help us fight, and I can promise you we can save your future. Isn't that what Itachi wanted?" Y/N whimpered. Sasuke closed his eyes as Naruto buried his head in his neck.

"I can promise you my loyalty." Sasuke squeezed both of their hands.

Months Later, War arc

"Sakura no!" Y/N yelled as she pushed Sakura hard, the pinkette rolling shoulder to shoulder down the hill. She just barely managed to dodge a roll of kunai from the zetsu.

"I have to help!" Sakura insisted, Y/N looking at her with a regretful look. "Y/N-Chan move now!"

"No!" You make sure you tell them how hard I fought, okay?" Y/N asked tearfully. Sakura whimpered.

"I'm so sorry Y/N, I wish I could help more!" Sakura whimpered, picking herself up.

"Take care of Naruto and Sasuke." Y/N wrapped her slashed headband around her forehead, a determined look on her face.

"Naruto, if you're the sun." Y/N whispered to herself as she ran, her feet padding against the floor. Her hands were wrapped around the hilt of her sword. "And if Sasuke's the moon." She whispered as she slashed her sword through a body. She stepped on its head and spun around in mid air, dodging the enemies fire. "Then let me be the star, before I burn out." Y/N could see them now, they were fighting together to face Kaguya, Sakura fast on her tail.

"Don't you dare die Y/N-Chan! Not after you saved my life!" Sakura yelled, but Y/N powered on.

"You take care of them for me Sakura-Chan." Y/N yelled as she launched forward, landing near Kaguya with Sakura at her side. "No!" Y/N shouted. Sakura shook her head.

"They need you more Y/N-Chan!" Sakura ran screaming at Kaguya, Y/N flipping into the air as she threw all the senbon she could reach.

"Don't touch her!" She screamed and howled, Kaguya having to dive back to avoid Sakura's punches. "Now Sasuke!"

Sasuke appeared behind Kaguya, as Naruto prepared a tailed beast bomb. Y/N ran forward, fully intent on being the distraction they needed. "You remember what I said Sakura!" Y/N yelled as she ran full force, dipping her kunai into the alien woman's head. She was then flying, an explosion as all hell brought loose. Y/N bounced across the terrain, spinning and hitting the floor as she fell onto the blade, tearing into her.

Y/N moaned in pain as she skid to a stop, hearing nothing but voices screaming her name. She blacked out, the last thing she felt was a hand on her chest.

"Thank god Y/N-Chan." Sakura whimpered in her ear, tears trekking down her face onto Y/N's. "You're alive."

"Naruto!" Y/N called out, but there was nothing but silence.

"Those idiots are fighting." Sakura mumbled tearfully, continuing to heal her. "Sasuke-kun went crazy after you died Y/N-Chan."

"I died?" Y/N mumbled, her throat tight as a tear ripped from her face. "If they're fighting, then what happened?"

"She's gone Y/N-Chan." Sakura smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "The war is over if we can just stop them from fighting."

"Then let's go." Y/N grunted, using Sakura's shoulder to brace herself up. "Take me to them." Sakura didn't hesitate, carrying Y/N bridal style as she jumped and leaped over the terrains. Y/N coughed blood up, but urged Sakura not to stop. She could see the blinding light coming from both of their jutsus.

"Oh no." Sakura whimpered, her grip on Y/N tightening. "We're too late." Y/N looked down and saw both boys lying next to each other, blood everywhere.

"Naruto-kun!" Y/N yelled, screaming his name. "Sasuke!" Both of them stayed still. "You don't get to die, I'm still here losers!" She screamed as Sakura slid down the valley. She moved near them, crying.

"They're alive. Y/N sit." Sakura placed her down between the two boys. Y/N grit her teeth as Sakura started healing Naruto and Sasuke. "I won't let them die." She declared, a hand on both of their chests. Y/N sniffled a tear back, but it grew to a full blow sob when she felt Sasuke's head land on her shoulder.

"I'm glad you're still alive, little star." Sasuke muttered in her ear, closing his eyes. Y/N sobbed as she held onto Naruto's hand, it was squeezing her back tight as she was greeted with a tearful smile.

Days later

"Who is it?" Sasuke muttered, still tied to the bed. He wasn't allowed to leave the hospital room until his injuries were healed. Afterwards he would be forced to stay in his jail cell.

"Naruto and me." Y/n introduced herself through the door. She opened it and smiled. His eyes lit up at them as he bit his lip.

"So.. I guess we should talk about what we promised to.." Naruto smirked. "When the war was over."

"Ah, yes." Sasuke muttered, embarrassed. "We did say we'd give it a try."

"I'm all for it." Y/N said as Naruto sat on the chair by Sasuke's bed. It was the only chair, so she sat on Naruto's lap securely. She was nearly healed fully, her face full of smiles. "Except it's kinda looked down upon for three people to love each other. I don't think anyone would understand."

"Who cares." Sasuke huffed. "I want you, and I want you. That's all I know and need." Sasuke stared at them as they nodded.

"Naruto's gonna be Hokage." Y/N sighed. "We can't jeopardize his reputation."

"I don't care about that, as long as I have you both." Naruto smiled, kissing her forehead.

"Sasuke's literally about to be jailed." Y/N huffed.

"Not for long, just a bit. I'm gonna get him out of there." Naruto exclaimed.

Sasuke looked Y/N in the eye, staring at her. "What?" She questioned, blushing.

"Marry me." Sasuke said. Y/N flinched. "Yes, Marry me." He answered her next question, making her laugh.

"No." Y/N shook her head. "I know your dream is to have kids, I don't want them." Y/N said as she huffed. "Please don't look at me like that." Y/N flinched under his glare.

"Don't force her Sasuke. We can talk it out but we have to agree on an outcome." Naruto sighed.

"Then marry Naruto." Sasuke offered. "Marry him and then I'll come and -!"

"I want kids too." Naruto sighed. "Maybe the problem is this Sasuke, maybe we need to think bigger."

Sasuke thought for a few minutes. Y/N bit her lip. "You aren't thinking of what I'm thinking are you?"

Sasuke nodded.

"Let's have an Affair and cover it up, until our kids are grown."

Present Day

Y/N woke up in a feverish sweat, gasping for air because of her worries from the war. She was having a nightmare, and looked down at the arm around her waist. Kiba was laying next to her, a hand on her face. "You're okay." He whispered, trying not to wake up the pets. Y/N leaned up and looked around, not recognizing her surroundings.

"Is this your apartment?" Y/N whispered, looking into Kiba's eyes. He nodded.

"Do you not remember babe?" Kiba brushed her hair behind her ears. "You got sick and fainted." Kiba frowned. "You and Sasuke got into a huge argument, and he used-!"

"That stupid fucking sharingan." YN looked down to see she was out of her clothes, but dressed comfortably.

"It's my shirt." Kiba smiled. "You were sweating so much. He wanted to take you, but you were so mad I didn't let him." Kiba brushed her hair back again. "Why is he so protective of you?"

Y/N laid back down and took the rubber band on her wrist. She lifted her hair into a messy bun, tying it securely. "We've been bestfriends since we were five. I can't believe he tried to put me in a genjutsu." She gritted her teeth.

"He can be a dick." Kiba chuckled at her. Y/N nodded.

'As you've seen." She shrugged. Kiba nodded.

"You can stay here if you don't want to talk to him." Kiba wringed his hands. "I'm sure I can whoop up a mean beef stew."

"I'm gonna take you up on that." Y/N smiled brightly.

"Come on babe." Kiba joyously grinned, pulling her into the living room.
